By downloading, installing, or using Anvil ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Anvil is a mobile application designed to help users capture and organize reading insights through a structured reflection process. The App stores all user-generated content locally on the user's device.
3. User Responsibilities
By using Anvil, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes
- Be responsible for all content you create within the App
- Maintain the security of your device and account credentials
- Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
- Not use the App to infringe on any intellectual property rights
4. Account and Authentication
The App may require authentication via Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the content you create within the App, including your reading insights, reflections, and categories. Since this content is stored only on your device, we do not claim any ownership or rights to your content.
5.2 Our Content
The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our permission.
6. Data Storage and Privacy
Your content is stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, accidental deletion, or other causes. We recommend regularly exporting your data using the PDF export feature.
⚠️ Important: Data Backup
Since your data is stored only on your device, uninstalling the App or clearing app data will permanently delete all your insights. Use the export feature to back up your data.
7. Beta Program
If you participate in our beta testing program:
- You understand the App may contain bugs or incomplete features
- You agree to provide feedback to help improve the App
- You will not publicly disclose unreleased features
- We may terminate your beta access at any time
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.
